THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS

The Oculus

Manhattan, New York

A personal photo that I had always wanted to take. Although, it took me a lot longer than I would have liked because I had lost my passion for photography for a while. However, I just so happened to bring my camera with me this day so I seized my opportunity.

Out of Place

A photo of my close friend Emanuel G. Having decided to meet each other in Manhattan, he had brought two umbrellas, one for me. However, without context Emanuel would look out of place.

Portrait

Emanuel happily volunteered to be the subject of a portrait. However, portraits have not always been my strong suit so Emanuel volunteering to be the subject of a portrait, provided me with the opportunity to practice this skill.

Changing Times

The Woolworth Building, once the tallest building in the world, up until 1930. The Woolworth building was also once the headquarters of the Woolworth Company, an early retail giant.

Fulton Station

Announced in 2002 and opening in 2014, the Fulton Center became a classic location for urban photographers. Known most for its skylight which lends its self well to black and white photography.

Radio City Music Hall

One of my fondest childhood memories was at Radio City Music Hall when my parents decided to take me to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

The Diamond District

Famous for its various jewelry stores, and diamonds in particular. Additionally becoming popular among cinephiles, for its predominant feature in Uncut Gems.

Time Flies By

Long-exposure photography is something I have always wanted to explore because it captures a moment in time. This photo captures Emanuel standing still as everyone and everything keeps moving forward with the clock.

The Blues

New York City in the winter becomes incredibly cold and cloudy. With the weather many people find themselves feeling blue, and out of touch with the rest of the city that never stops moving.

Reflection

In a city that never stops moving its rare to find anything that stands still. However, this puddle of water stayed remarkably still so it provided me with the opportunity to reflect on the little moments.

Heading Home

As a native Staten Islander, the Whitehall Ferry Terminal has become a familiar sight to me and many others. The Whitehall Ferry Terminal represents the first step in heading home to many.

Falling Temperature

While preparing to head home, the first snow of the year began, so I took the chance to capture the first snow of the year. Despite the cold that the snow brings the snow brings, the warm glow of the street lights provided a sense of comfort.
