Historically, art and artists have been the catalysts for social advocacy and change, empowering people to embrace and fight for their beliefs. Recent immigration policies and the increasing marginalization of immigrants and Hispanic Americans throughout the United States of America, has led to a need for a showcasing of Hispanic artists and designers, who have influenced modern design.“El Museo” is dedicated to highlighting the unique history and work of immigrants and Hispanic designers, and how their works have helped shape history. Often the canon has highlighted Western artists, with less emphasis on artists of color.
